Recently, FQII has made a new breakthrough in international standardization. Recommended by the relevant institution, LI Jie, a senior engineer from the Green New Materials Center of FQII, successfully completed the registration of the ISO Standards Development (ISO SD) System, and officially became a committee member of ISO/TC 35/SC 9/WG 30 and ISO/TC 35/SC 9/WG 31. At present, the relevant information has been publicly available in the ISO Official Committee Member Roster. This marks that FQII has established a stable channel for expert participation in international standardization of general test methods in the fields of paints and varnishes, and has the ability to continue to participate in international collaboration.
ISO/TC 35 (Paints and varnishes) is the core technical institution in the field of international paint and varnish standardization, and its subordinate SC 9 (General test methods for paints and varnishes) is mainly responsible for the construction of basic standard systems such as general test methods, measurement procedures and evaluation methods. LI Jie joined WG30 and WG31 committees, focusing on “performance related to construction and drying processes” and “performance after construction”, respectively. The research scope covers key technical links such as specimen preparation, test conditions and equipment requirements, operation consistency, result determination and precision evaluation (repeatability and reproducibility). After joining the above committees, LI Jie will be more directly involved in substantial work such as standard clause optimization, technological demonstration, data support and opinion feedback, and contribute the wisdom and technical solutions of FQII to the formulation of international standards.
Currently, the country’s requirements for ISO/IEC registration experts are becoming increasingly institutionalized and closed-loop, emphasizing that experts need to promptly track the progress of international standard projects, actively participate in technical discussions, effectively respond to international consultations and feedback and promote the coordination between domestic and international standards. FQII will take the addition of ISO registration expert as an opportunity to further improve the support system for international standardization, promote the coordinated development of “standards-testing-scientific research”, continuously provide high-quality technical recommendations and methodological outcomes, and continuously enhance its participation and influence in the formulation of international standards, thereby providing stronger technical support for the high-quality development of the industry and the alignment of technical regulations in our country with international standards.
