Since the beginning of this year, the Green New Materials Inspection and Research Center of FQII has diligently implemented the institute’s “843” development strategy, driving new progress in standardization efforts. As of October this year, the center has led or participated in the completion and publication of 15 standards, with 2 submitted for approval and 11 currently under research. These include 1 international standard, 25 national standards, and 2 industry standards.

Among the 17 concluded standards (including those submitted for approval and published), technical experts from the Green New Materials Inspection and Research Center of FQII  served as the primary drafters for 4 national standards. This also marks the first time FQII has led the development of foreign-language versions of national standards and national sample standards. Among the standards under research, FQII is leading 3 projects and served as a major drafter for 3 others. Notably, ISO 15184, Paints and varnishes—Determination of film hardness by pencil test, represents FQII’s first breakthrough in the field of international standards. These standards primarily focus on green building materials and their application scenarios, covering hot topics such as adhesives, coatings, building materials, and toys. At the standardization annual conference held in late October, technical experts from the Green Materials Center were recognized for the third time in four years with the “Advanced Individual in Annual Standardization” award, conferred by the National Technical Committee. They were also appointed as members of two national standardization technical committees, laying a solid foundation for our institute to lead high-quality industrial development through standards.

In the next phase, the Green New Materials Inspection and Research Center of FQII  will accelerate the promotion and implementation of newly published standards and enhance its capabilities. It will advance research on standards for high-demand products, continue to develop international standards and foreign-language versions of national standards, and support enterprises in “going global” through standardization. These efforts will contribute more “standardization strength” to improving the quality of green building materials in our province and across the nation.
