On November 4th, the science and technology project of Fujian Market Supervision Administration "Research on the Determination Method of Harmful Substance Vinyl Chloride in Wood-based Panel Products and Their Products", which was undertaken by the Wood and Furniture Department of FQII, passed the acceptance smoothly, and the project achievements reached the leading level in China.

    Vinyl chloride is one of the confirmed human carcinogens (Class IA) identified by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). It is very harmful to human health. In view of the lack of detection technology of harmful substance vinyl chloride in wood-based panel products and their products, the detection method of harmful substance vinyl chloride in wood-based panel products and their products was established in the project. It has strong practicability and broad application prospect.

    The project fills in gaps in the detection method of vinyl chloride in wood-based panel products and their products, and the research results help improve quality and safety monitoring of wood-based panel products and their products, in order to provide a reliable basis for further controlling vinyl chloride in wood-based panel products and their products from harming human health, and also provide reference for the revision and formulation of related standards.
